Rob Gotlin Community Leadership Grant Provides First Award

Bennett's Village was the recipient of the first Rob Gotlin Community Leadership Grant. AOCPMR Resident member, Emily Hillaker, DO, applied for the grant to provide a communication board as part of Bennett's Village at Pen Park in Charlottesville, VA. The communications board, which enables children and adults who are unable to speak to better communicate with others, was installed July 29. Local media has taken notice of the board's installation:

The Rob Gotlin Community Leadership Award supports innovative projects that reduce physical or environmental barriers for individuals with disabilities. Funding is awarded for projects aimed at advancing accessibility and inclusivity within the community, promoting physical and emotional wellness, and optimizing access to healthcare. The grant is named in loving memory of long-time active AOCPMR member, Rob Gotlin, DO.
